Huge turnout for first Busselton City to Surf

Busselton Dunsborough Times

More than 1000 people took part in the first Chevron City to Surf for Activ in Busselton yesterday.

Walkers and runners left from Signal Park and took part in 12km and 4km distance events.

City of Busselton deputy mayor Tom Tuffin sounded the horn for the 8am start.

“That was an incredibly awesome sight,” Cr Tuffin said.

“We had over a thousand young, fit and healthy people ready to go.

“It’s just a wonderful thing for Busselton, and well done to Chevron City to Surf for Activ for organizing this all.

“We’d love for the event to come back and the City of Busselton will make it even bigger and better for you next year.

Free warm-up sessions for participants were held by Medibank and the crowd involved themselves in the synchronized stretches before their 12km run/walk and 4km run/walk/wheelchair events.
