Hospital planners overcome final hurdle
The proposed Busselton Hospital development has received the final environmental green light to allow construction to start following the selection of a builder.
The $120.45 million Busselton Health Campus project was approved by the Federal Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities this week.
Health Minister Kim Hames said the decision to dismiss appeals against a State vegetation clearing permit had been made because a package of mitigations and offsets put in place would address environmental impacts and achieve long term benefits.
“Good planning and design has allowed us to reduce the number of trees that will be removed from 238 to 156 and we will plant up to 500 new trees as originally proposed,â€
