Grass works start

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Port Geographe seaweed and sand bypassing works have started.

The Department of Transport confirmed Ruabon-based VMS Contractors were awarded the tender for the project and started trucking and pumping of the annual build-up of seaweed started on Monday.

Coastal infrastructure manager Steve Jenkins said the works were expected to be completed before the Ironman WA on December 5.

The works will be the second last year and will be funded by the developer’s bank guarantee after they finished work on the project and did not respond to the Busselton Shire Council’s requests to carry out the work.
