A Yallingup chef will help finish next weekend’s South West Foodbowl Festival with a bang.

The two-day Nannup event celebrates the role South West farmers play in feeding families in the region, State, country and around the world.

The weekend will be topped off by the South West Sensations dinner at Nannup Hotel on October 18, featuring a menu by Rivendell Estate chef Matt Hamilton.

Award-winning ABC journalist and From Paddock to Plate founder Louise Fitzroy will MC the evening.

Mr Hamilton said guests could expect local Black Point Beef, marron and lobster.

"I’m into a bit of foraging and using as much local produce as I can," he said.

"It’s always a little bit more expensive but, that being said, it’s about supporting local business instead of using the big guys with the buying power that can knock down prices.

"You get what you pay for; I definitely think it’s worth it, flavour-wise."

Festival committee member Joanna Wren said the dinner would give guests a rare chance to experience the From Paddock to Plate philosophy firsthand.
