This Mother’s Day will be a very special occasion for Busselton resident Fiona Amudala.

The Cornerstone Christian College teacher is a first-time mum and will spend the day with her daughter Vida, 6 months, and husband Mash. Mrs Amudala said she could not wait for Sunday,

“I’m excited, ” she said.

“I have been wanting a Mother’s Day for a really long time because it’s taken a while for us to have a little bubba.”

“I don’t have any plans. I just want to spend it with Vida.”

Mrs Amudala said Vida’s unusual name came from the feminine form of David.

She said motherhood had been a whirlwind so far, but surprisingly less stressful than she thought.

“It’s the best experience of my life to date, ” she said.

“She’s been such a cruisy baby.”
