Wind gusts of up to 130 kilometres an hour were recorded as a strong cold front hit the South West early this morning.

SES operations room manager Peter Stark said 14 callouts had been received so far, with the most damage occurring in the Quindalup, Dunsborough area.

“The vast majority is roof damage caused by falling trees,” he said.

“There were also areas of intense wind around the Carbunup district with power lines down.”

“Crews are working through a prioritised list.’

Power interruptions had occurred across the Shire including Yallingup, Dunsborough, Quindalup and Vasse, with an estimated restoration time of 12.30pm for most areas.
