Yallingup surfer Josh Cattlin and filmer Belinda Le-Grice have been crowned the winners in the National HIF Clip of the Season film competition.

Cattlin and Le-Grice won the State round and the national final, earning a cash prize of $2500.

The competition called on surfers and filmers across Australia to submit their best surfing clips from the winter period to be put before a Statewide vote before proceeding to a national final.

Le-Grice said the duo were “over the moon” with the win.

“I’m in awe watching kids like Josh pulling into these massive barrels over gnarly, shallow reefs,” she said. “I love watching all these great surfers.

“I can’t wipe the smile off my face.”

State and national prize pools combined totalled $8000, and the first-place cash prize will go towards a video equipment upgrade for Le-Grice, while Cattlin plans to save for the future.

HIF executive manager Anne Humphrey said the organisation was “delighted” to learn a WA duo had won the award.

“We’re very lucky to have so many extraordinary surfers right here on our doorstep,” she said.
