Busselton Shire president Ian Stubbs cut the ribbon at the informal opening on Friday, attended by churchgoers, volunteers and people from as far as Perth.

Since distributing items out of cardboard boxes on the church veranda about ten years ago, the church raised about $65,000 for the new building which started with a significant anonymous donation two years ago.

Coordinator Judith Pearce said a lot of hard work from generous volunteers was behind creating the bright and airy premises and exciting times were ahead with men from the church also now helping to run the shop.

Volunteers Gay Growden and Lamani Williams said it served as an “outreach” to the wider community and provided a great and affordable option to buy clothing which was important at a time where many faced a higher cost of living.
