Dunsborough eyes Tidy Towns prize

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Dunsborough will enter the Keep Australia Beautiful Tidy Towns competition for the first time in 2012.

Five enthusiastic residents formed a Tidy Towns Committee and were starting their campaign to make Dunsborough Australia’s tidiest town.

The committee included Dunsborough Yallingup Chamber of Commerce representative Dawni Dennis, Dunsborough Visitor Centre’s Matt Norton, Busselton Shire’s Kathryn Davey, GeoCatch’s Jen Mitchen and community member Peter Glennie-Carr.

Mrs Dennis said participation in the competition would benefit the community by making it sustainable as well as raise its profile as a tourist town.

“We are beginning our charge with a communal rubbish collection here in Dunsborough on the 28th of August for two hours,” she said.

“We are going to do regular things so when it’s time to complete a submission we have lots of activities behind us.”
