Dunsborough and Districts Country Club took out top honours at this year's Clubs WA 2015 Awards for Excellence, walking away with the award for Small Club of the Year.

Manager Bruce Taylor accepted the award on behalf of the club on Saturday night at this year's ceremony at Crown Perth.

More than 450 club representatives were in the audience and Mr Taylor said it was a huge coup to win the award.

He said while the club was listed as one of the three finalists for the awards, he had no idea the group would win.

"We didn't know but it's fantastic," he said. "It has just been great for the club and good exposure for the town."

"It's nice to get the recognition."

Mr Taylor has been at the helm of the Dunsborough Country Club for the past two years. He said over its 40 year history, the club had been an asset to the community.

This award also recognised Mr Taylor, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities in club management and consistently strives for the betterment of the club within the industry.

Clubs WA chief executive Karen Giles said clubs were an integral part of the community and social development.

She added it was essential to recognise and support the clubs and individuals who give "so much" to local communities.

The Dunsborough and Districts Country Club also won the award for Best Club Function Facility in the small category.
