Dibley's Got Talent on stage

Busselton Dunsborough Times

It will be a cross of comedy, music and acting when the Wild Capers Theatre presents its latest production – Dibley’s Got Talent.

Featuring characters from classic British sitcom The Vicar of Dibley, the musical review revolves around the cast trying to put together a talent contest to raise money for a new church hall.

While the first act concentrates on the talent show organisers trying to find enough people to participate and encountering a number of difficulties, act two will see the cast performing different numbers.

Director Liza Black said the “feel good” show would have plenty of laughs and entertainment for the entire family.

The 20-strong cast will feature a variety of veterans and newcomers, ranging in ages from 10 to 80 years old.

“We practically have an all new cast in this production,” Black said.

Dunsborough stage veterans Geoff Taylor and Terry Hegerty will return to the state with their renditions of favourite Flanders and Swan numbers Mud Glorious Mud and the Armadillo Song, while newcomers Lauren and Paul Simons will shine with their numbers Much More and Bring Him Home.

Other newcomers will perform a Monty Python skit, while the Capers Kids will be putting up a play based on Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes.

Eighty-year-old Kath Murphy will also entertain audiences with a musical number.

Black said audiences could also look forward to a number of off-stage antics which would occur during the talent show.

Dibley’s Got Talent is on for two nights only at the Old Dunsborough Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, September 22.

Tickets cost $20 and are available from SeaChange in Dunsborough and Callows in Busselton.

Profits will be donated to community groups.
