Creations spring to life at winery
Spring is on the walls of a Capes winery in the form of a new exhibition of mixed media flower paintings.
Jeanette Giroud’s exhibition Bella Rosa is an eclectic combination of mostly rose paintings and landscapes on display at Laurance Winery until October 19.
"I'm more of a landscape artist usually, but I’ve been doing flower paintings recently," Ms Giroud said.
"I've had vintage fabrics collected from the 1950s and 60s and I decided to use them.
"I've used distressed fabrics, beading and machine embroidery for textural, 3D pieces," she said.
"I've also done a few paintings with oil on canvas, watercolour and a couple of acrylics. I've been painting madly. I have about 16 new paintings."
Ms Giroud, an artist and former principal, will donate 15 per cent of proceeds from the exhibition to the Dunsborough Busselton Zonta Club.
This is her second exhibition.
