Community ready to celebrate
The first Vasse Community Open Day will be held tomorrow, transforming a local park into a bustling activity zone.
The free event will run from 1pm to 4pm at the new Dawson Estate in Vasse.
Plenty of fun is on offer including a 10m rock climbing wall, bungee jumping stations, pony rides, face painting, a coffee van, ice cream truck, the local fire brigade and fundraising stalls for Vasse sporting clubs.
Organiser Zara Newman from Hanson Property said residents could meet their neighbours, enjoy a day with the family, support the community and find out what’s happening in Vasse at the same time.
“There’s already an established community in Birchfield Estate and we want to combine that community with the new estate we’ve created in Dawson and also provide families with a free event to enjoy, ” she said.
Miss Newman said they hoped to turn the community open day into an annual event.
To get to the park, follow the signs from Bussell Highway into Dawson Estate or cycle across the foot bridge from Birchfields Estate, across the Buayanyup Drain.
