Community garden has spring in its sights

Busselton Dunsborough Times

The Busselton Community Garden will be celebrating spring with the launch of its new recipe book, Harvest in Your Hands.

Picture by Becky Felstead: Rachel Kemp, Sue Halls with Hellen and Reagan Kneale present the new recipe book, while Emmy Kneale and Brielle, Jimmy and Jarrah Cain watch on.

The recipe book, which contains recipes from local contributors, will teach readers how to use locallygrown seasonal food.

“It’s about using produce you grow and harvest from a local point of view and there are a variety of recipes from soups to chutneys,” committee secretary Rachel Kemp said.

“Our young ambassador for 2010, Alanah Marriott, and her family, did a lot of fundraising to produce the books.

“Hellen Kneale worked tirelessly to edit and produce the book.”

The books will cost $15 each with all proceeds to be used for the gardens.
