Club scores glorious package
Busselton's Cornerstone Soccer Club have picked up 20 tickets to this weekend's A-league game as part of Hyundai's Goals for Grassroots program.
The lucky recipients, which include players and parents, watched Perth Glory face the Newcastle United Jets at nib Stadium on Friday night.
Club president Todd Ellery said despite the fact that the soccer season finished eight weeks ago, the team was thoroughly excited to win the tickets.
The club has also received extra tickets from Perth Glory and Mr Ellery said it meant more children were able to take part as there was room for more parents to help look after them.
"We're really fortunate Glory has looked after us with extra tickets," he said.
"Getting kids on a three-hour journey can be a bit taxing."
The club also received a $1000 funding grant, with the possibility to increase the grant to a maximum of $10,000 based on the number of goals Glory scores at the match.
"There's every chance that we'll find ourselves coming away with a few thousand bucks," Mr Ellery said.
"Which as a local team is great."
The club will be awarded a giant cheque, with a presentation and photos on the field before the match.
