CinefestOz gets reel

Busselton Dunsborough Times

A hostage drama, French comedy, skateboarding documentary and an Australia-China co-production are all programmed for the CinefestOZ film festival in Busselton next month.

The film Last Dance stars Julia Blake as a holocaust survivor who is taken hostage by a young radical Palestinian after he fled a failed suicide synagogue bombing.

The Australian-made drama stars Firass Dirani and touches on ideology, faith, freedom, oppression and the power of compassion.

Intouchables is an uplifting irreverent French comedy about friendship, trust and human possibility that had received multiple international awards and broke European box office records.

Skate Australia documents a road-trip journey into the underground world of long boarding, slalom, sliding, dancing and downhill skating.

33 Postcards stars Zhu Lin as a Chinese orphan who visits her Australian sponsor Guy Pearce and discovers his life to be far from the idyllic one he depicted in his postcards.

The full program won’t be known until just before the five day festival kicks off on August 22.
