Chlorine leak identified at Collie Heated Swimming Pool, surrounding roads closed

A chlorine leak has been identified at Collie Heated Swimming Pool.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services issued a general warning for a gas leak in Collie near the intersection of Throssell Street and Steere Street South about 7pm on Sunday.
Chlorine gas is present in the area and firefighters are at the scene working to contain the leak.
The gas is being blown in a westerly direction, potentially impacting residents in the surrounding area.
The impacted area is bounded by Forrest Street, Lefroy Street, Coalfields Highway, David Hay Street, Venn Street East, Venn Street West, Jacaranda Loop and Wellington Boulevard, along with surrounding areas.
Throssell Street between the start of town and Lefroy Street, Ben Street and Forrest Street have been closed.
Residents have been urged to stay inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed and air conditioners shut off.
