The Busselton foreshore will light up this Saturday night, with the annual Carols by the Jetty expected to attract more people than ever before.

The event is organised by a combined Busselton Churches Committee and is run completely by volunteers.

Organiser Terry Thompson said the event helped bring the community together.

"It's a chance to show families what Christmas is all about," he said.

"The community can celebrate together and see a smile on the children's faces."

More than 2500 people attended the event last year and Mr Thompson hopes that number will increase this year. "This year is bigger and better," he said.

There will be plenty for families, with children's entertainer Sean W. Smith and singer Marnie Fulton performing.

The annual guessing game of how Santa will arrive continues, after he rode the waves on a jet ski to the event last year.

Children are encouraged to dress up as angels or nativity characters and can join the annual angel parade on the night.

Carols by the Jetty starts at 6.30pm and is expected to finish about 8.30pm.
