Capes up close, heart and soul

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Artwork that captures the Capes region’s natural beauty and provides ongoing inspiration will be exhibited in Yallingup.

Margaret River artist Peter Scott said observing the special moments in nature gave “a feeling that touches our hearts, uplifts our soul and makes us feel alive”.

Atmospheric landscapes are included in the show, but most of the collection, entitled Essence, is closeups of nature which he captured by “slowing down and seeing those brief moments and not letting them pass by”.

He described his work as fairly traditional in form and used a variety of mediums including acrylic paint, impasto gels, modelling compounds and glazing techniques.

Scott also runs weekly painting classes from his home studio and will be demonstrating at the Wills Domain winery gallery on September 8 and 22 between 12.30pm and 2.30pm.

Wills Domain will host the opening of Essence on September 7 between 5pm and 7pm. The exhibition will run until November 7.
