Busselton spared during wild weather

STEPHANIE VANICEKBusselton Dunsborough Times

The City of Busselton has been spared the brunt of yesterday’s cold front with no call outs reported by the Busselton State Emergency Services.

The weather conditions, normally experienced with a winter cold front, saw damaging winds of up to 100km/h with a wind gust of 106km/h recorded at Cape Naturaliste at 3am.

At least 200 Western Power customers in Busselton were without power at 4am today.

Busselton SES branch manager Gordon Bleechmore said there were reports of a big boat breaking free of its moorings in Quindalup, but the region has mostly “escaped the brunt of the storm”.
