Busselton man caught red-handed faces charges

A 36-year-old West Busselton man is facing burglary and stealing charges after he was caught in the act by police on Wednesday.

Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said the man stole electrical items, clothing, cash and jewellery worth more than $2000 from two West Busselton properties between 8am and 2pm.

After the crimes were reported, police patrolled the area and allegedly discovered the man inside a third home on Park Way.

A foot race ensued and the man was caught by police with two bags of stolen property at 2.40pm.

He was charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of stealing and one count of trespass.

The man appeared in Bunbury Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until he returns to court on June 7.

Sen. Sgt Principe said the man was known to police.
