Busselton’s famous SunSmart IRONMAN Western Australia event took on a new “Legendairy” look at the Legendairy IRONKIDS Busselton on Saturday morning.

Twelve dairy cows were paraded ahead of the start of the Legendairy Ironkids race.

Perfect weather greeted the 250 children taking on the swim, ride and run.

The WA dairy industry sponsored the Legendairy Ironkids Busselton event via its Legendairy program to build awareness of dairy in the community and highlight the nutrition benefits of dairy as a sports drink.

Additional attraction included a life-sized cow, painted by the South West Institute of Technology’s Visual Art Students, the national winner of the Picasso Cow make-over prepared by the Harvey Primary School, milking demonstrations and calf feeding opportunities for children.

The City of Busselton will add the newly painted cow to its cultural precinct to ensure the Legendairy Ironkids story lives on.
