Busselton Festival of Triathlon winners of State award
The Busselton Festival of Triathlon was named the overall State winner at the Regional Achievement and Community Awards on Friday.
The Department of Regional Development hosted the awards at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and more than 350 guests attended.
Winners received a $2,000 Smart Access Bank Account from Commonwealth Bank and a trophy.
The Festival of triathlon won the Perth Airport Events and Tourism Award as well as the overall award.
The Busselton-based Geographe Catchment Council also won the LandCorp Sustainability Award.
Other award winners included the Roebuck Bay Working Group in the CSBP Environment Award category, the Seniors Recreation Council Peel Branch in the Prime Super Community of the Year Award category and Honouring Indigenous War Graves project won the Department of Aboriginal Affairs Indigenous Service Award.
Northam’s Robert Carter took out the Curtin University Teaching Excellence Award and Jimmy O’Rourke of Bunbury won the Horizon Power Leadership and Innovation Award.
REFAP PTY LTD of Karratha won the Rinehart Development of Northern Regional WA Award and Dandaragan Organic Beef won the Keystart Home Loans Primary Producer of the Year Award.
The winner of the Department of Local Government and Communities Community Group of the Year Award was the Go Narembeen Progress Association Inc.
