Busselton council down to eight

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Busselton Shire councillor will operate with just eight councillors until the October election after Jackie Emery resigned from the local government authority.

Mrs Emery has left the council for personal reasons after two-and-a-half years in the role.

Shire President, Ian Stubbs said Cr Emery was an advocate for the people.

“She was always prepared to question issues and raise alternate views and it was this dogged determination to drill down into even the most complex issues that she was admired for,” he said.

“Jackie made a great contribution at Council and helped shape our Shire – she will be sorely missed.”

She also served on the council’s finance committee and heritage advisory committee.
