Bunnings Warehouse Busselton are teaming up with The Salvation Army to raise funds for its annual Red Shield Appeal and are asking locals to get behind the cause and dig deep to show their support.

Salvation Army Corps officer Jason Dannock said people donating to the cause would ensure the Salvation Army can assist people struggling in the community.

“The Red Shield Appeal is the Salvation Army’s annual national appeal and the funds raised go towards our social programs,” he said.

“The money raised goes to help people in the community.”

Bunnings Warehouse Busselton Complex manager Dave Morton encouraged people to head down to Bunnings and show support for the Salvos this month.

“We’d love to see everyone make their way down to the store to make a donation and support the great work the Salvos do,” he said.

Mr Dannock said holding the appeal at Bunnings would help with an increased number of people getting involved.

“It’s handy that we can be in a central location that people already come to,” he said.

“People see the Salvation Army and know what we do and are willing to help out.”

Mr Dannock said they were still looking for volunteers to help out with the tin shaking over the two weeks.

“If people can come to Bunnings and can give one or two hours it’s a great help,” he said.

The Red Shield Appeal runs over the weekends from Saturday, May 14 to Sunday, May 29.
