Bombers set to mark milestone

The Busselton Bombers are calling on past players to dig out their old football gear for the club’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

The Bombers joined the Onshore Cup Football League in 1989 and are still going strong a quarter of a century later.

Their anniversary function will take place on Saturday, August 9, at Busselton Tennis Club.

Organising committee president Michael Torrent said all players and supporters were invited.

“Whether you’ve played one game or 100 games, we’re trying to get everyone who’s played for Busselton in the last 25 years to come back and catch up, ” he said.

“It’s more for the older players, from about 1990 to 2000, that are going to be hard to get a hold of.”

Mr Torrent said the club was relying on social media and word of mouth to let people know about the function.

He said they would relive memories of their only premiership in 2002, although this season looked promising.

Attendees can book their place by calling Michael on 0457 386 374, or Rick on 0412 148 100.

Organisers are also chasing old photos and memorabilia for the night.
