Big hearted ride revs up
Four hundred motorbikes will rev through the Capes region next month for the 12th annual Salvation Army ride.
Leaving from Augusta and stopping in Margaret River, Dunsborough and Busselton, the riders will have a trailer in tow on a mission to collect donations of toys, non-perishable food, blankets and cash for the Salvation Army Christmas appeal.
The fundraising starts on Saturday, December 1 with a quiz night at the Augusta Hotel from 7.30pm.
Tickets are available by calling 0408 500 865 or emailing toolmas68.tf@gmail.com
On December 2 the riders will be given a breakfast send off at the Augusta Recreation Centre from 7.30am, at a cost of $5, before leaving at 9.30am.
They are scheduled to stop in Fearn Avenue in Margaret River at approximately 10am and the Dunsborough Hotel carpark at approximately 11.15am.
The ride finishes at 12.15pm at Signal Park in Busselton where there will be a sausage sizzle, coffee, ice creams and rides from the Busselton Lions Club train.
Organiser Tim Finlay encouraged people to become involved in the event and help them reach their aim of raising $10,000 for those in need.
“Come on down, have a look at the bikes and bring a donation, even if it’s a gold coin, anything helps,” he said.
The group are also holding a raffle which has a first prize of a $3000, 50 inch flat screen television, with tickets available from local businesses including Cars on Cook, Red Rooster, Boss Office Choice and Busselton Mitsubishi.
