Busselton Public Library will launch a weekly second-hand book sale next week so it can stock bestsellers as they come out.

Senior Librarian Karen Alcorn said the book sale would be held at the library every Monday morning from 9.30am to 11am.

“We’ll sell excess library stock or donations that didn’t quite meet our criteria to stock in the library — maybe books that had a small bit of wear and tear, ” Ms Alcorn said.

She said funds would go toward acquiring new releases and bestsellers as they hit the shelves.

“We buy our books through State Library Resources, ” Ms Alcorn said. “Books sometimes have a time lag on them and people want them when they’re new.”

Ms Alcorn said the library would accept donations of new and second-hand books.
