Australia Day brekkie helps others

Aussies helping Aussies is the theme of the Windows Estate Australia Day sausage sizzle to raise funds for close-to-home victims of floods, fire and drought.

The winery’s Davies family have organised the event for Wednesday with all proceeds to be distributed through the rural Country Women’s Association.

The family will match the amount raised.

Donors will be contacted with details of the final amount raised and where it was distributed, including the drought-affected Wheatbelt, fire-impacted Lake Clifton region and flood victims in the Gascoyne region and Queensland.

“There is a lot of mother nature showing her fury at the moment,” Joanne Davies said.

The family said there was no better day than Australia Day to help fellow Australians in need.
