Projects aimed at boosting wellbeing and liveability in Kalgoorlie-Boulder invited to apply for funding

Community groups, not-for-profits, and individuals with ideas to improve community wellbeing and liveability are invited to apply for a funding boost to help bring their ideas to life under the next round of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s annual grant program. The program provides one-off grants and three-year service agreements to support projects that enhance community wellbeing and improve liveability in the city. Last year, the city awarded more than $620,000 in funding to local organisations, enabling a range of successful projects, from infrastructure upgrades to new community programs. Past recipients include Kalgoorlie Volleyball Association, Sandalwood Family Centre, and Kalgoorlie Scout Group. Mayor Glenn Wilson said the AGP was an opportunity for community groups to bring their ideas to life and make a real difference. “One of the best things about this program is seeing how much local organisations can achieve with the right support,” he said. “We’ve helped fund everything from sporting upgrades to new arts and youth programs — initiatives that bring people together and make Kalgoorlie-Boulder an even better place to live.” “If your group has a great project in mind, I encourage you to apply. “The city is here to support you through the process and help turn your vision into reality.” Applications are open for local community groups, not-for-profit organisations, and individuals under auspice arrangements. Two information sessions to assist applicants will be hosted at the Goldfields Arts Centre on February 25 and March 5, with one-on-one meetings with city officers also available.
