Caring volunteers recognised
Bess Home and Community Care will celebrate all 132 of its volunteers with a big breakfast and excursion as part of National Volunteer Week.
Bess executive officer Julie Cooper told the Times the event aimed to celebrate the “invaluable contribution” of its volunteers, who hail from across Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River.
“We just want to show how much we appreciate what they do and express our thanks,” she said.
“We couldn’t do it without them.”
Bess’ volunteers offer support by delivering meals, supplying transportation and visiting clients at home, among other services.
Supported by a Volunteering WA grant, they will tomorrow be treated to a breakfast at The Goose and invited to join a walk along the Busselton Jetty.
It is one of several volunteer appreciation events hosted by Bess throughout the year.
National Volunteer Week runs until this Sunday, promoting the message: “Give happy, live happy”.
