Vegan activist Tash Peterson claims she’s received death threats after Optus Stadium, Coles and Woolworths protests
A high-profile Perth vegan claims she has been bombarded with death threats and abuse in response to her public protests against animal farmers and meat consumption.
Tash Peterson, 26, gained notoriety for accosting shoppers at Coles dressed as a blood-soaked abattoir worker and running onto the field during the first AFLW Derby at Optus Stadium in February.
In a series of social media posts, Ms Peterson revealed screen shots of messages she claims she was sent, including one by a person threatening to slit her throat outside her workplace.
She said her meat, cheese and animal bones had also been left outside her home.
“I can come with a knife and slit your throat,” one message read. A comment on one of her TikTok videos reads: “I woulda shot you on the spot.”
Ms Peterson said someone claiming to be a farmer also sent her a message threatening violence to any protesting vegan activists.
“I will be carrying a splitting axe with me and a rifle I will bring out if I am called an animal abuser,” the message said.
“Then I will shoot the vegan that said it and all the other vegans there, I am going to jail for years but I am mental as anything.”

In a post accompanying some of the screenshots, Ms Peterson said: “I recently had a discussion with a dairy farmer who openly said that he’s had farmers tell him that they would willingly shoot activists if they were on their property.
“Most of this is probably just talk; regardless, it is still highly concerning. Why are peaceful people trying to stop violence, met with violence?
“The stalking, harassment and disgusting name calling is beginning to get out of control.”
Police said Ms Peterson’s claims of online threats and abuse had been reported to officers at Palmyra Station and are being investigated.Ms Peterson was herself fined $1,800 last month for running onto the ground during the AFLW match.
She has also grabbed public attention for a series of stunts in supermarkets and butchers where she dressed as an abattoir worker covered in fake blood holding a lamb.
