Man critical after he was allegedly stabbed near Westfield Hornsby

A man was allegedly stabbed after he was approached by a group near a shopping centre in Sydney’s Upper North Shore.
Emergency services were called to Muriel St in Hornsby about 3pm following reports of an assault.
A 21-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were approached by a group of people before the man was assaulted and stabbed by one of the members of the group, officers were told.
Police were also told the group took items, including clothes, the man was carrying before they left the scene.

It’s understood the incident took place near a Fitness First on Muriel St, which is located just inside Westfield Hornsby.
A NSW Ambulance spokesman said they received reports of a man in his 20s with a stab wound to his leg just before 3pm.
“He was treated on scene by paramedics, and transported by road to Royal North Shore in a critical condition,” the spokesman said.
The woman was not injured.
A crime scene was established and police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
