Water rally success: organisers

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Organisers of the anti-chlorination rally in Busselton on Saturday have labelled the day a success, with more than 800 people turning out at the event.

Keep Busselton Water Pure spokesperson Diana Michaels said the rally had set the tone for the campaign.

“This was about people participating and having a say, and so many were offering to help as well,” she said.

“What was great was the number of young people who turned up at the rally and were aware of what chlorination would mean for them.”

Ms Michaels said the letter calling for the sacking of the Busselton Water Board and its CEO had received 856 signatures at the event.

“We are still collecting more signatures, so we are estimating it might be another three to four weeks before we send the letter to Water Minister Bill Marmion,” she said.
