Twitchers get parking

Busselton Dunsborough Times

Birdwatchers will be given their own parking space in Geographe to allow them to pursue their hobby more safely as part of an officer’s recommendation to be considered by Busselton Shire Council on Wednesday.

Council staff recommend $50,000 be included in next year’s budget for the parking due to the potential risk of birdwatchers stopping on a road reserve near the Layman Road site known as Wilmott’s Wetland.

A proposed Department of Environment and Conservation lookout tower, which was to be part of the Port Geographe development, was on hold as the developer was yet to complete civil works at the site.
