Daffodil Day: Supporting cancer research
Busselton business owner Marilyn Royer will be donating her time today when she sells merchandise to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
A long-time supporter and volunteer with the council, Mrs Royer has been taking part in Daffodil Day for the past 15 years.
Together with volunteer Kaye Belotti, she will be setting up a stall to help raise money for a good cause.
“We’ve lost far too many friends and loved ones to cancer, and had our share of grief, so we want to give a little back,” Mrs Royer said.
“Over the years, I’ve noticed a lot more people coming out to donate and people come specifically to us, and a lot of them don’t even buy merchandise, they just want to donate some money.”
Daffodil Day is vital in raising funds to support research, prevention and support services for cancer patients and their families.
Volunteers will be at the Busselton Central Shopping Centre from 8.30am to 5pm on Friday, August 26.
