Bosses take a jump
A plunge from the Busselton Jetty beckons for some of the community’s leaders tomorrow, all in the spirit of a good cause.
The Toss the Boss at Busselton Jetty fundraising campaign, organised by Radio West to raise money for Princess Margaret Hospital, attracted 20 registrations including Stocker Preston director Louis de Chiera and Dunsborough Primary School principal Gary Jones.
Mr Jones said he put his hand up to encourage children to think about the less fortunate who needed hospital care and the school announcements and notes sent home generated excitement.
“It’s a very worthwhile cause and obviously something to get a bit of enthusiasm happening in the school,” he said.
“I would imagine I will have a few interested spectators.”
Radio West assistant content director Kat Tibbits said each participant needed to raise $1000 to qualify.
The initiative would help reach the fundraising target of more than $100,000 through the Give me Five for Kids appeal held each June.
The Radio West breakfast team, Chris and Nea, will host the event with jumps to be staged from 10am to noon and a barbecue available for a gold coin donation.
