Bankers appeal for kids
The team at Bank of Queensland Busselton appeared as if they had just jumped out of bed on Friday when they wore their pyjamas at work.
The informal dress was for the launch of the organisation’s annual children’s hospital appeal.
The Banking on our Kids campaign sought to help children recover faster from illnesses and conditions requiring hospitalisation and return to their own beds.
Branch manager Meagan Simpson said it was a bit of fun to dress up but with a serious message about sick children forced to be away from home.
“It’s for thinking about them being in hospital and not able to do their day to day things,” she said.
“Every kid wants to be at home getting tucked in by Mum and Dad; to be surrounded by their own toys.”
The appeal would run throughout July, with the goal to raise more than $275,000 nationally.
Miss Simpson said local generosity, which raised at least $1000, would make a positive difference.
Donations can be made at the branch.
