Nationals’ Kirrilee Warr looking to invade WA Parliament’s ‘inner sanctum’ as campaign officially launched
The Nationals candidate for Geraldton has officially launched her State election campaign, saying the region deserved a representative who could fight within the “inner sanctum” of Parliament.
About 90 people turned out to The Gerald to hear from Kirrilee Warr on Wednesday night, including Opposition Leader Shane Love who was the special guest for the night.
Mr Love said the seat of Geraldton was crucial to clawing back power from Labor.
“We have a candidate who will make sure that the electorate of Geraldton makes a difference in the next Parliament,” he said.
“If we win Geraldton, that is the path to overturning the Labor government.
“This is a seat which is critical and crucial to the future of Western Australia, and we all need to do everything we can to have this magnificent candidate representing the people of Geraldton into the future.”
Speaking to the masses, Ms Warr agreed, saying the election was about the future.
“It’s about ensuring that Geraldton and the Mid West receive the strong representation and real action we deserve,” she said.
“It’s about doing things differently, making a real difference and ensuring that you, your family, and our community truly matter.”
Ms Warr, a farmer from Chapman Valley and shire president, said she learned the value of hard work through her upbringing, but also saw the importance of community.
She said it was where she drew inspiration from her leadership style.
“Geraldton deserves a representative who not only understands our challenges, but has lived them,” Ms Warr said.
“We need leadership that pushes higher, that fights for regional WA and ensures Geraldton gets the attention it deserves.”
Ms Warr continued, saying a strong voice was needed to hold the State Government accountable.
“If we want Geraldton to thrive, to become an epicentre of prosperous industries, we need a strong voice in Parliament,” she said.
“We need a representative who will work tirelessly and fight for a fair deal within the inner sanctum of the Western Australian Parliament.
“I aspire to be part of that inner circle championing causes that matter.”
