Technology tips for seniors
City of Busselton libraries will host a Seniors Digital Technology Expo next week as part of Get Online Week.
The sessions are for senior citizens with little or no digital literacy skills.
Library services co- ordinator Carol Anderson said it was a good opportunity for people to learn new skills.
“The event is in partnership with Computer West, U3A and with the help of the City’s digital mentors,” she said.
“Come along, have a cuppa and have a go with using a tablet or smart watch, and try the latest in home automation.”
Ms Anderson said the library would also launch further digital training for seniors through the Australian Government’s Be Connected initiative, and an online “scavenger hunt” at the Busselton Library on Wednesday and Dunsborough Library on Thursday from 10am-11.30am.
“The Digital Senior program will help seniors increase their confidence, skills and online safety,” she said.
“It will also support people over 50 who don’t engage with technology thrive in a digital world.”
Busselton Library’s Seniors Digital Technology Expo is on Tuesday and Dunsborough Library’s is on Friday, both 9.30am-noon.
