sweet victory savoured
Baked might be small and relatively new, but its award-winning delights were made evident last month when it won a gold award for its delicious and highly popular lamingtons.
This is the third consecutive year of wins for the bakery at the Perth Royal Bread and Pastry Awards, and Baked co-director Candice Barton said the award was a significant achievement for a pastry chef.
“We’re particularly proud of this one because a lamington is a bakery staple — an oldie, but a goodie,” Ms Barton said.
“It takes real craft in handling them to create something so fluffy and light, yet so decadent.”
Baked also won three silver awards for its breads and a handful of bronze awards, placing the business among the State’s best bakeries.
“We are a new and fast-growing bakery, where we pride ourselves on quality, consistency and the love we put into everything we do,” Ms Barton said.
