Surf’s up for all abilities
The Disabled Surfers Association’s South West branch will hold its first Let’s Go Surfing event of the season at Bunker Bay next Saturday.
The events are held once a month during summer, and attract up to 70 volunteers and 40 participants from across the Capes.
DSA is a not-for-profit organisation whose sole purpose is to give people with varying disabilities the opportunity to have a safe, happy surfing experience.
Their philosophy is that despite having a mental or physical disability, everyone deserves the opportunity to give surfing a go.
As well as surfing, there will be beach games and a sausage sizzle.
No surfing experience is required and new volunteers are welcome.
To volunteer or participate, arrive at Bunker Bay before 9am on Saturday, December 8 to register.
