Mondooley Mach in form for Busselton’s big night

The $15,000 Busselton Cup will separate the men from the boys and the ponies from the geldings tonight.

Mondooley Mach, trained by Joe Rigoli and driven by Jamie Rigoli, will look to continue his good form of the Busselton season with another win in race five.

Rigoli will see stiff competition from Bunbury trainer Kaiden Hayter’s horses, Hoiho NZ, which Hayter will drive, and Fight Song, driven by Aaron Beckett.

An outside chance is Sammy’s Ideal driven by Trent Wheeler and trained by Busselton’s own Michael Callegari, who will look to make the most of his local knowledge.

A close tussle for Busselton Trotting Club leading trainer will play out tonight with only two points separating Matthew Scorr and Errol Ashcroft.

Junior reinswoman Emily Suvaljko has been in scintillating form over the Busselton Trotting Club season and, with only one meeting to go, she is 25 points ahead of her nearest competitor.

Suvaljko has driven for numerous trainers and been a consistent performer during the first five outings.

Her recent win and two seconds at Williams Harness Racing Club on Australia Day showed her skills were adaptable to any track.

Busselton Trotting Club will hold its annual flagship event tonight, with gates opening at 5.30pm.
