Here’s to a winter warmer
Any plans for winter hibernation can be put on hold, with the Cabin Fever Festival returning to the region in July.
More than 35 events will be held throughout the Capes at breweries, wineries and restaurants.
Cabin Fever Festival co-director Erin Molloy said the festival was the perfect way to discover the region’s talented entertainers and organic produce.
“Cabin Fever is all about championing the South West and showcasing all the incredible things it has to offer,” she said.
Top food, beverage and entertainment events include Game On at Yarri, The Sunday Roast, Blazing Brews, the Hip Hop Yoga Brunch, and the Brewer’s Block Party.
Game On at Yarri combines a six-course degustation, designed by award-winning Oakridge Estate chef Matt Stone and local culinary master Aaron Carr, with a six-round quiz hosted by Dave Bicknell and Tony Davis.
The Sunday Roast comedy event at Cheeky Monkey will be hosted by Canadian funnyman Tor Snyder and star Mickey J, Craig Quartermaine and triple j RAW State finalist Alissia Marsh.
Blazing Brews at the Beer Farm will feature blues music and top-quality beer, all around the bonfire.
Live music will be provided by the Bambuseae Rhythm Section, Lightnin’ Jack and Howling Onshore, while the Burnt Ends Smoking Company cooks up a barbecue feast. The Hip Hop Yoga Brunch will be a fusion of chilled beats, yoga moves and a five-course share style vegetarian brunch by Rua Teweehi.
Busselton’s The Fire Station will again host the Brewer’s Block Party, in which 10 South West breweries will go head-to-head with 10 experimental one-off winter brews.
The Cabin Fever Festival will run from July 19-28.
