The Ludlow Forestry Mill and Settlement welcomed hundreds of people at the weekend to mark 100 years since the passing of the WA Forest Acts.

Organised by the Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group, the event included history talks, a blacksmith demonstration, quilt display, art exhibition and vintage cars and motorcycles among many other displays and stalls.

Restoration group president Evelyn Taylor said more than 1000 people attended the event, with the Busselton Lions Club also donating $1000 to the group. “We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout, or a more enthusiastic group of people — we had more than 100 new members sign up,” she said.

Mrs Taylor said all money raised would go towards restoring the settlement and forest, a project which she said had “so much potential”.
