Club event to be last at foreshore

The Busselton Tennis Club will celebrate the end of its tournament season on Saturday when it hosts the annual presentation night.

It will be the final major event at the club’s foreshore site, where the club has been since the 1930s.

Trophies are to be handed out to Clifford Hoult and Alison Kirk, who defeated David Triffit and Sandy Sigelski (6-2 6-1) in the mixed doubles final last week.

Tracy Adams and Richard Kim won the repechage, while Colleen Blundell and Garry McDonald, and Doug and Allison Hutchison, will pick up plate awards.

In the men’s doubles, Paul Collins and Hoult won a three-set final against Ben Priest and Richard Kim ( 6-3 1-6 6-3).

Brycen Godfrey and Triffit won the consolation trophy against O’Neill and Creedon (9-4).

Louise Braddock and Tracy Adams beat Merryl Peet and Sandy Sigelski (6-3, 6-0) in the women’s final and Harumi Shirakawa and Ingrid Windsor won the plate.

The men’s singles final between Hoult and Godfrey will be on Saturday, May 4 at 3pm.
