Busselton Aero Club has welcomed back chief flying instructor Peter Hales and hopes the coup will help grow its membership.

Club president John Brisco said the club was proud to see the return of founding member Mr Hales, below, as chief flying instructor.

“We’re very pleased to have Peter after an absence of some years,” he said.

“He brings a large degree of professionalism that we could well use.”

Mr Hales brings with him the ability to teach for both recreational aviation licences as well as commercial general aviation licences in conjunction with the Bunbury Aero Club.

“I was a senior instructor in Kununurra teaching people to fly the 14-seat Cessna Caravans,” Mr Hales said.

“We have a lot of young students who want to make a career out of it, either commercially or in the air force. We give them a good foundation.”
