Toy appeal aims to have all Bunbury children part of Christmas morning joy

Hoping to have no Bunbury children miss out on the joy of unwrapping presents on Christmas Day, Aussie Bunbury is again running a gift appeal. Aussie’s Second-Hand Christmas Gift Appeal — in partnership with the Salvation Army — comes amid the cost-of-living crisis meaning the need was greater than ever. Aussie Bunbury owner Shaun Brodison said the appeal was “all about putting smiles on kids’ faces at Christmas in spite of the tough times”. “We know that members of the Bunbury community are facing challenging times,” he said. “We’re asking the community to participate if they can by donating suitable toys that they no longer need around the house, such as bicycles, books, board games, sporting equipment, teddies, dolls, or Lego.” The community is encouraged to donate bicycles in rideable condition, books without rips or writing in them and board games in a usable condition. Sporting gear, stuffed toys and dolls without rips or haircuts and building toys such as Lego that have all their parts, are also welcomed. People are asked not to donate toys which are ripped, in bad condition or with missing parts. Donations also should not include stained or ripped clothing. Items can be donated to the collection point at Aussie Bunbury’s 141 Victoria Street office. “Your generosity can make a significant impact this holiday season,” he said. “Let’s come together as a community and make Christmas a little brighter for those in need.
