Busselton lotto winner a mystery

Busselton Dunsborough Times

A winning lotto ticket worth almost half a million dollars has been sold to a mystery player in Busselton.

Michelle Springhall from Callows Corner Lottery Centre said the winner of the Division 1 ticket from the Saturday Lotto draw, worth $477,627, was yet to come forward.

She said excitement and anxiousness surrounded the town with lots of locals asking if the ticket had been claimed.

"It was only on Friday that we had a customer asking how long it had been since we had sold a Division 1 Lotto ticket. It must have been a sign that there was one not too far away," Ms Springhall said.

A winning ticket for the same amount was also sold at DJ’s Lucky Lottery in Hillarys, with the Perth family wasting no time in coming forward to collect their prize.

Callows Corner Lottery Centre, which has been selling lottery games for the last 40 years, last sold a Division 1 Lotto ticket in October 2010.

That ticket was worth just over $1 million.
