Nineties bathroom transformed into modern marvel
Full-height marble tiling makes a stunning statement in this renovated Hillarys bathroom.
Kitchen and bathroom specialist Retreat Design was commissioned to transform the dated, 90s-style ensuite into a modern and spacious bathroom, which owner and director Steve Johnson said meant starting by simplifying the layout.
This included removing a toilet nib wall and a second entrance, which helped create more floor space to work with.
“By bricking up a second entry door, we created a much more spacious and usable ensuite bathroom,” he said.
Mr Johnson said the renovation, which included updating the home’s kitchen to “create a design flow that runs through the house”, had delivered the homeowners a luxurious and modern bathroom.
“(The result is) a new bathroom ‘sanctuary’ coming off the clients’ master bedroom which is very light and spacious with a timeless design.”
The Modo vanity in a ‘toasted laminate’ finish is from Italy’s Altamarea, and is paired with an Altamarea mirror and an antique brown brushed stone benchtop from BeyondStone in Osborne Park.
The vanity is also fitted with a flush under-mounted basin, a Duravit design called Vero, paired with Zucchetti Pan tapware.
The spacious shower recess features a Zucchetti Pan wall mixer and hand shower, a Hansgrohe Raindance overhead shower, as well as two in-built wall niches.
